Having the I, IV & V7 chords and all the relative minors for the keys of G, C, D and A on one harp, in the space of the old 12-bar chord assembly, makes the 15-bar Evoharp an ideal autoharp for oldtime music, folk and bluegrass.
This harp combines elements of the old Oscar Schmidt A-models (made before 1970) with contemporary standards of craftsmanship. Its light weight makes it a pleasure to hold, and I think you'll like its rich open tone. Thank you for considering an Evoharp. ~Evo Bluestein

The new harp arrived in a very timely fashion and in near perfect tune. My wife has been playing a custom harp by another builder, but it was just too big and uncomfortable for her to play.
We played for two hours tonight and she had none of the discomfort that she had playing the other harp. She is needless to say very excited about it and absolutely loves it. Thanks for all your help and thanks for a great harp." The now were happy Goodman's Bob & Yvonne Goodman, Vancouver, WashingtonI was suprised this year for Christmas with a 21 bar chromatic Evoharp. After my first pick/strum I was hooked! The crafstmanship, the wood combinations and the sounds from this instrument are incredible. On top of it all, it is one that I can actually play. I have small hands and have been trying to play the guitar and sometimes I'm unable to fret the appropriate chords. I love folk, country and gospel music. It is a blessing to have full chords at my finger tips. Thank you for providing this instrument to folks like me.
Janet & Ray Molinari, New JerseyI purchased an EVO harp last year from Chuck and dearly love it. (I have recommended it to others) I had been using an old OS harp for a year with the usual wide buttons. It didn't take me long to get use to the narrower buttons. I like the looks of the narrower buttons. They look more stylish.
After I saw my first EVO at the Winter Festival in Irving, TX and all the festivals thereafter, I quickly knew that I needed an EVO
Thank you for designing a lighter weight Autoharp. I have Carpal Tunnel and the lighter weight has been wonderful. Alice Brannen
"I'm so excited. I never played so much autoharp before." Mary Carty, Pinelands Folk Music, Mt Laurel, NJ
"Just wanted to let you know the instrument arrived in fine shape. You sent it Saturday, and it was in my hands Tuesday. Incredible! It sounds very nice, and I think it is a good addition to any stable. It went to my Pioneer Home gig on Wednesday, and was well received." Al Weber, Faribanks, Alaska
"Thanks again. I've been playing it for an hour - it sounds very nice and believe it or not, it was pretty much in tune after a week in the mail! It seems very well made and is very beautiful - also so easy to play. I can tell already it is much easier on my hands, and lighter in weight which helps my wrists and hands too. It's hard to believe it's lighter because the wood looks so much more substantial than my OS45. It sure sounds better! I think that Mcspadden certainly has got the hang of autoharps - I was pleased to add it to my collection of four McSpadden dulcimers. They always do a great job with their instruments, they are consistent with their quality and service. I always recommend their dulcimers to people because I love mine so much, now the Evoharp goes on that list too. Also you were right on the case - it's very nice too, a good value compared to others I've seen. Worth the wait! "
Barbara Durham, Ovideo, Florida"Thank you for your helpfulness with my order and thanks especially for making available a quality autoharp." Terence Butler, Highland Park, New Jersey
"The Evoharp was delivered in excellent shape and in excellent tune! I find it easy to play and the sound is wonderful. It does not bother the arthritis in my hands so it is a blessing. Already I have been asked to do a little entertaining for an 85th birthday party so will do a few sing-along songs. Thank you!" Florence Haas, Mountain View, California
"I received my Evoharp in perfect condition and in tune. I am positively thrilled at the rich, full sounds that emanate from this exquisitely crafted autoharp that is so very comfortable to hold, and has such a perfect chord bar configuration. I guess you are getting the idea that I truly love this instrument. I know I am going to have many hours of enchanting musical enjoyment thanks to you and my Evoharp." Eve C. Dennehy, Middletown, New York
"I got my new Evoharp a few days ago and I must tell you that I am absolutely OVERJOYED with it. The music it makes is sweeter than any I've heard and it is a pleasure to play. I shall be recommending your instrument to all harpers. Thank you so much for your personal phone calls and excellent customer service."
Sue Barnes, Enid, Oklahoma"A few weeks ago I ordered a 21 chord Chromatic harp from Evo Bluestein. I received the harp and have been unable to put it down. The harp is fantastic. It is VERY VERY light and the sound is beautiful. The woodwork is superb! The action is extremely smooth with no noise at all. I am actually playing pieces I thought to be to difficult before with ease. I highly recommend this harp to anyone looking to purchase a new harp. The fact that the chord symbol letters were placed on the side of the chord buttons really helped since they can be easily viewed when playing the harp upright. I can't say enough about the quality of sound or the materials and workmanship of harp. I'm in awe. Bravo Evo!" Walter Keaton, Ramseur, North Carolina
"The new Evoharp is a pleasure to play, so now it is all about practice time. Thanks for a job well-done in producing such a solid instrument." Roger Lange,
Green Lane, PennsylvaniaMy new harp is a complete joy. What a difference from my other harp. Not only is it beautiful but the tone is wonderful. The set up of the chord bars is just perfect. I find myself putting my work aside
to sneak over to the harp and play awhile, but not as long as I would like to. I was amazed that it came immediately and was packed well, not only in perfect condition but in tune with itself. I am not sure, but it seems the discordant sounds I would get before are gone. Is that possible? Also, I used to have a rattle from the plastic buttons. That being non existent is a real plus. It wasn't loud, but I could hear it and found it annoying.
The experience from ordering from you to receiving the Evoharp has been a pleasure. I appreciate your willingness to answer my questions and explain the harp as I purchased it without having tried one before. Su Egen, Tucson, AZEvo, the harp just arrived, and I am delighted with it! Thank you for making such a lovely instrument available. I love the chord arrangement being so convenient to practically anything I can think of that I'd want to do....it is as rich and clear as I expected I'd have to get a diatonic to achieve, and with more choices of chords and keys.....Thanks so much.
a few months later
You were absolutely correct. The Evoharp sound is huge..... The harp we got from you a few months ago does not get put in its case, except to go somewhere else to play. In our house, it stays on its stand and gets played daily. I have really loved this harp and my husband would like to get me another. I am continually surprised by how much I enjoy this autoharp...the sound, the playability, the eight, the arrangements of the bars. A friend came over shortly after I got it, played a few chords next to her face (like the woman in the picture on your site), and exclaimed, "This is what music must sound like in heaven!"
Nan in MontanaI wanted you to know I got my 21 chord Evo today, in wonderful condition. It's beautiful, a little smaller and lighter, like I had wanted, but OH! what a sound it can make, it's a dream now and it's new and will only get better with age. I JUST LOVE IT, and even strap buttons already. The case is really nice too.I have 2 other autoharps, I will sell them, I wont be playing them anymore. Rose Schrader, Texas
\"WHAT A GORGEOUS INSTRUMENT!!! I have owned several harps, including a custom Chromaharp folk model and two Oscar Schmidts, but I have never seen an autoharp so beautiful and so well constructed. The sound is better than the appearance. I know that if it ages the way that I think it will that I will have the best sounding autoharp in Southern Oregon and Northern California. I'm really looking forward to my first performance with it." Sincerely, Charles C. Charles
"I want you to know that I love my Evoharp, and so do my patients, even though I use it in the most rudimentary ways. My instrument soothes people in a most important time for them, and gets them to daydreaming too. That's worth a lot!" Patty Silva, Selma California
"I was sitting here playing my harp and it hit me that I hadn`t told you how much I am enjoying playing it. The harp has a great sound and I don't have to work at playing, it is so easy. The way the keys are made lets my fingers fix right nicely. I am going to my first workshop soon and I am proud to be taking an Evoharp. Thank you so much for a wonderful autoharp." Brenda Roberson, Allene, Arkansas
"I received my beautiful harp, and the sound is just wonderful, all I want to do is sit and play. I am real pleased with it. Thank you so much." Barbara Etheridge, Irving, Texas
"I just thought you may like to hear that I am in love with my harp. It's so beautiful--I keep being surprised that I'm able to make such a lovely sound come out of an instrument. My husband bought a steel-stringed guitar (having only played classic guitar before) and now we spend evenings playing music out of the "Rise Up Singing" book I bought from you. Thank you for turning me on to this great new chapter in my life!" Chris Newsom, Nevada City, California
"Today I bought one of your Evoharps at Dusty Strings in Seattle. I was really taken with it's appearance at first, and then I held it! I was amazed at the light weight of it, and yet the great sound it produces! Wow! I think that from now on, it will be my traveling 'harp for when we're gone on trips in our motorhome. I have 4 Oscar Schmidts, and an Orthey, They are all heavy except for the one OS Centurion. The people at Dusty Strings were very impressed with the quality of your harp. They're mainly used to Oscar Schmidts and their quality is so variable, to say the least! Thanks for such a nice sounding harp! Looking forward to much enjoyment." Cheryl Burkley. Seattle, Washington
"I love the videos--your teaching is very inspirational and playing the Evoharp gives me such joy in my soul. Tuning it myself is such a satisfying experience. The store where I took it to get my D string replaced, was so complimentary about the Evoharp. Many people saw it on the counter the morning it was there, and they all agreed they'd never seen a nicer looking 'harp! In fact, I went in a week later and they said 'Aren't you the one with the beautiful autoharp?' And women used to be known for great legs, long hair and other such trivia!' Thanks for this wonderful 'gift' that fills my soul!" Suzanne Cholet Hughes, Cambria, California
My 18-bar Chromatic Evoharp arrived Monday. It is just beautiful!!! Your craftmanship is superb. I have never seen an autoharp that comes anywhere near close to the beauty of this one.
I played most of the day Monday. Great resonance and tone!!! I am very, very pleased. Thanks. Nancy King, Issaquah, WAJust wanted to let you know that I received my 21 chord Evoharp in wonderful shape and the sound was even more beautiful than Id remembered (perhaps because its mine). Even my husband who is not a musician could hear the difference from my old OS!!! It was almost in perfect tune as well and I love the caseso much more room for music and accessories. Now Im trying to get my sister started! Shannon Boord, Boerne, TX
Myra was completely surprised when I brought the instrument home. It arrived perfectly tuned and beautifully crafted, a very nice instrument that Myra is proud to own. We now regularly get together to play and sing (me on guitar, mandolin, or acoustic bass) and even Ben drops in occasionally to chime in on cello. So, we're really enjoying it very much. Bob Sollee
"Hey, after playing my Evoharp for a couple of months now, I have to admit I love it. Thanks for a great harp. Sam Hays, Leesville, SC
"Thanks for the prompt and careful shipment of the Evoharp. We are very pleased with the workmanship and lovely sound." Norm Schoenmeyer
Akron, Ohio
"It has a nice round sound with a full bottom but still packs a punch. My husband told me I could choose any harp I wanted, even an Orthey, but I was looking for the smaller size and light weight as I'm not very big. Your [Evo]harp is so comfortable to hold and has that same old blacky feeling...". Victoria Bell, Spencer, Wisconsin
"I am the only one I know who was in the market for a
new autoharp, and I am very happy with the Evoharp. I believe I got some extra confidence as soon as I started playing it." Lucina Estes, Dalton, PA
"I received the harp today and it's beautiful! It sounds so bright and full. Thank you so much for getting it here so quickly." Sandi Richerson, Grass Valley, California
"I'm enjoying the heck out of it! I think it's got a great sound. It certainly got me to play more than the other harps. It's so attractive to look at it makes you want to pick it up and play." James D. Miley, Manhatten, Kansas
"It's got a beautiful sound and what I like is the weight. It's so handy and easy to play. Other harps pull on my neck. It arrived in almost perfect tune. I like the case too." Bill Harrison, Tampa, Florida
"The Evoharp arrived yesterday in good shape and my wife spent several hours delightedly experimenting with it last night. Thanks for the prompt service."
Steve Duke, Evanston, Illinois"The beautiful harp is here, and it exceeds my wildest expectations. What a joy, what superior quality! I am also very pleased with the elegant case. It arrived at my office this morning, and I am having a hard time keeping my mind on my work and my hands off the harp. We have a soundproofed Copy Center, and I have been playing in there. Glory!
Thank you so much."
Karen Larsen, Portland, Oregon"Upon returning to the Autoharp Jamboree at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas (summer 2000), I was honored to buy an Evoharp. It is a beautiful solid wood, 15-chord harp that has the most exciting, bright, crisp sound. It truly is a beautiful instrument that will bring joy to me and all of my family and friends in South East Texas. Thank you Evo, for providing the possibility of owning such an instrument." Jan Clark, Buna, Texas
"I have been meaning to write to tell you how wonderful the autoharp is. It is absolutely beautiful and sounds like a dream. I am having a lot of fun with it. My son (19) has been fooling around with it a bit, too. Who knows? I might be getting one for him soon." Susan Birndorf, Birmingham, Michigan
