The Road to Sweet’s Mill: A Life in Folk Music
From a childhood among the founders of the folk revival to five decades on California’s stages and in its classrooms, Evo Bluestein traces a life devoted to traditional music. Drawing on his book Road to Sweet’s Mill — a firsthand account of the West Coast folk revival of the 1960s and ’70s — Bluestein shares stories of the musicians who shaped him, reflects on 45 years teaching folk arts in California schools, and performs songs on autoharp, fiddle or other folk instruments. A rich blend of memoir, history, and live music.
